Time of New Leaves

A flash of red fur and sandy colored fur flashed through the brush, hooves thundering through a puddle two pairs of paws followed in pursuit. A twig snapped as snapping jaws and snarling filled the air and the low call of a elk. In the shadows two snarling wolves walked towards the cornered beast. It's horns leveled it snorted its hoof pawing at the ground. One of the wolves howled, lunging itself at the elk it grunted, stepping back as the other wolf launched itself as well, biting its leg and hanging on paws dangling in the air as more figures appeared, mobbing the elk as it fell to the ground the shadows started to leave. Most of the wolves walked away, but two stayed behind, starting to drag it back. One a red color, with a grey streak from her nose to tail tip and the other sandy colored with hints of a grey-brown color in his fur.


The two young wolves arrived, dropping the kill in the middle of a amazing place. A huge oak was in the middle, its roots creating amazing dens and lanterns, floating from strings of the branches on the oak. "Taria, would you say I was, amazing?" Asked the sandy colored wolf with a grin, his mane covering his eyes he brushed it away with a paw. "Hmm, you mean when you leaped at a bull elk with no thinking?" She asked with a glimmer of humor. "No Orion. You should have thought better." Orion snorted, waiting for the higher ranked wolves of the pack to eat before they took there share. "If," he said his voice muffled with food. "We get full ranks before Winter, would we be able to go out of the territory?" Orion asked, wiping a paw over his red stained muzzle.
