500 Years in the Making: The story of Lady Nyx

Hell is a place that many attempt to define, but few can truly describe. For a newborn demon though it is home. Brought into this world through fire and brimstone, hated for being something she never chose to be, Nyx was trained within the pit from the day those emerald eyes opened, to fight…to defend…her right to hold a piece of hell within her soul, to earn her immortality. At fifty years of age the obsidian she-demon emerged triumphant from purgatory, a feat few of her kind achieve. Aamon a powerful Archdemon of Hell; her father spoke to her with pride the day she stepped into the mortal sun praising his daughter for her strength. Prideful in her power, she followed in her father’s footsteps, collecting mortal souls to feed her strength until the tears of those souls permanently stained her ebony cheeks.

Centuries later though, after the last marked battle between Angels and Demons, the dame found herself without a cause, her family scattered across the worlds, and immortality is a terrible thing for the one with nothing. She wandered aimlessly for years becoming little more than a shadow of herself; until like in most cases a life altering event occurred. Nyx stumbled upon a mortal wolf, little more than a pup, seemingly just as alone as she. Finding compassion in her heart for more than likely the first time, she sheltered, and cared for him raising him as her own. As the boy aged into a well rounded adult; Aamon reappeared within her world wounded from a terrible battle with the Seraphim Vinaer; he demanded her charges soul, but she refused instead using her knowledge of herbs from over the years to treat his wounds. His recovery was slow, and painful, and Nyx was often forced to leave her young mortal to keep watch while she sought food.

On the eve of her third century in this world, she returned to the small cave she deemed home to find her charge lifeless at her fathers feet, the wound upon his chest glowing with energy as he absorbed the soul. Crying out the she-demon would charge at the titan, but it did little as he quickly regained his strength, and simply knocked her backwards. “You would let your father suffer over the puny life of this creature.” He did not ask her, he accused as he loomed over his daughter red eyes lit with the fury of hells fire; he forced his way into her mind crippling her with pain from the inside out, and then he was gone, leaving her prone beside the body of the wolf that had taught a demon to care.
